Today marked what we hope will be a turning point for the Woodstock Residents Association as we elected the most diverse committee to date. Of course, more growth is needed and welcomed but as a starting point, this is very exciting!

Please join us in welcoming Rob, Mark, Dominique, Denver, Belinda, Sodia, Luchulumanco, Nadia, Ute, Rashaad, Ms Commando, Rose, as well as returning members Bevel, Andrea, and in an advisory capacity, Laura. They are your incoming WRA.

We thank the rest of the outgoing WRA who chose not to stand again due to work and study committments as well as moving out of the area – Carla, Jared, Michelle, and Father Bob – for your service.

We’d like to thank each and every one of you for attending today’s AGM – it was so much fun getting to know all of you, our neighbours, better and sitting down as a communuty to discuss our common goals and concerns.

We’re looking forward to working hand-in-hand with the new WRA and with our neighbours to build the Woodstock we all dream of.

The next steps include:

  • Distributing and posting a summary and minutes of the AGM. This will include the Constitution.
  • Drafting the WRA mandate which wil.l be included in the minutes and handed over to the new association.

This is drawn from today’s breakaway discussions:

  • Convening a meeting between the old and new WRA where the official handover will take place. This will happen on the 25 April and is a closed meeting.
  • Thereafter, the new WRA will be in touch with all of you, our neighbours, on their plan of action.
